Electromobility in Poland is gaining more and more dynamics.
According to reports, at the end of July 2023, a total of 47,018 electric cars were registered in our country! This is an increase of 13,293 vehicles compared to 2022. It's time for a little summary...
Electric cars are also becoming common in Poland. More and more drivers appreciate this technology and decide to invest in modern models from renowned and valued brands. However, not only the famous ones. Users are also eager to switch to vehicles with zero CO2 emissions from manufacturers that are just debuting on the market.
What makes us love electric cars?
Electromobility on the Polish market
July 2023 brought impressive statistics regarding electric vehicles traveling on Polish roads. In the first seven months of the year, a total of 82,955 passenger cars of this type were registered. Of these, 42,265 were full electric vehicles (BEV) and 40,690 were plug-in hybrids (PHEV). We also cannot ignore the 4,778 zero-emission delivery vehicles and trucks. Additionally, at the end of July, 18,290 electric mopeds and motorcycles were registered. These numbers clearly prove the success and dynamic development of electromobility in the country.
The middle of summer 2023 turned out to be record-breaking in terms of registration of electric vehicles. The average growth in registration numbers was around 50% per year, but for vans and trucks the rate was more than three times faster.
It is also worth noting a significant increase in the registration of hydrogen-powered vehicles, which reached almost 80%. This is great news for both the environment and ourselves. Less noise on the streets and no exhaust fumes that pose a threat to our health are changes that bring only benefits.
The increasing popularity of electric vehicles contributes to the improvement of EV infrastructure
With the growing number of electric vehicles, charging infrastructure is also developing.
Data shows that at the end of July 2023, there were a total of 2,953 public charging stations for zero-emission vehicles in Poland, with the total number of points being 5,884. Of these, 32% are fast stations (DC), while 68% are slow alternating current (AC) chargers with a power less than or equal to 22 kW.
In July alone, an additional 68 new public charging stations were launched, which means an increase in the total number of charging points by 32% compared to 2022. Experts predicted that by the end of 2023 the number of charging points could increase up to approximately 7.5 thousand , and in the next two years even to over 38,000. This is an impressive achievement.
However, please remember that in accordance with thenew Act on Electromobility, each parking lotdesigned formore than 20 vehicles will have to be equipped with at least one charging point for electric vehicles.
All this is to be completed by 2025.
