Are you considering buying an electric car? What is worth knowing before making a purchase decision?

Purchasing an electric vehicle is a strategic decision that will become the norm on the roads in the near future.

If you are considering purchasing an EV car, we recommend that you thoroughly familiarize yourself with the topic. In our article you will discover the essence of electric technology and the real picture of everyday use of electric vehicles. Are you looking for a perfect car that not only offers a comfortable ride and wide range of operating options, but also supports the global aspiration for climate neutrality? This is a great decision!

Electric Car Guide

Electric cars are rapidly gaining popularity, overtaking traditional vehicles. Car manufacturers are flooded with new models and innovative solutions, ensuring an even higher standard of use. Nevertheless, many people still have questions about whether electric cars will meet their expectations. Doubts about charging electric vehicles and the costs associated with it are becoming more and more common. In today's entry you will find practical information that - we hope - will make it easier for you to take the first step towards buying your dream car!

The transition to electromobility: a dynamic trend that is permanently changing the automotive landscape

Green transformation: electromobility in the spotlight against the background of climate change. Shifts in habits versus environmental protection. What is electromobility and what are our results?

There are already over a million electric vehicles on the road in Germany! Other countries are quickly following in the footsteps of their western neighbors. Statistics clearly show that electromobility is gaining popularity among both genders. Currently, it is mainly people aged 25-44 who decide to buy an electric vehicle, identifying with an eco-friendly lifestyle. Less plastic, less pollution are the main motivations of potential buyers of electric cars.

What are the characteristics of an electric car?

First of all, let's define what an electric car is. Among the vehicles on the road, we also encounter hybrids, which are sometimes confused with zero-emission vehicles. An electric car, or BEV (battery electric vehicles), is powered only by electricity, while PHEV hybrids (plug-in hybrid electric vehicles) can be charged electrically and use traditional fuels. In short: the hybrid allows you to freely switch between electric and combustion modes at any time, which is especially practical on long routes when access to electric chargers is limited. The category of completely emission-free cars also includes hydrogen-powered models, i.e. FCEV (Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles), opening up new perspectives for us, although currently they are still rare and, according to experts, potentially the future.

Deciding on an electric car: challenges and budget

Before deciding to buy a car, it is worth considering your own preferences and needs. Why do you want to have an electric vehicle? Is it mainly to be used to get around the city or are you planning long journeys? Do you prefer elegant limousines or agile, compact models ideal for urban parking? These questions are important because electric cars have specific ranges on a single charge, which may depend on many factors, including weather conditions and the number of passengers.

Even though the latest models of luxury electric vehicles offer ranges of over 700 km, you should also take your budget into account. The cost of a luxury electric car may exceed PLN 800,000. If such an expense does not fit into your financial plans, it is worth considering middle-class cars. City and compact models, although with shorter ranges (approx. 500 km), are often available at prices below PLN 200,000. Even the cheapest, small electric cars can be purchased for less than PLN 100,000, although their range is just over 200 km.

When using an electric car, remember that the range may depend on many factors, such as battery capacity, vehicle weight, weather conditions, number of passengers, functions used (e.g. navigation, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth), air conditioning, driving style, topography and braking , which, thanks to recuperation, may affect the vehicle's range.

The process of charging a zero-emission car

The procedure for charging an electric car is simple and extremely convenient. In case of lack of energy, simply place the vehicle under the charger and connect it to a power source. The time of full charging depends on the capacity of the battery and the power of the charger, and can range from several minutes when using a DC charger with a power of 350 kW, to over 30 hours when using a regular socket or an AC charger with a power of 2.3 kW.

Owners of electric cars enjoy easy access to charging stations, which are becoming more and more common in cities in Poland, including: at gas stations, public buildings and places with higher traffic. There is also the option of purchasing your own charger and installing it on your private property.

Electric vehicle batteries are powered by direct current (DC), and a growing number of them use energy from renewable sources, which makes the operation of these vehicles ecological and economical.
