Already one in four Poles is thinking about replacing a combustion car with an electric one

Growing climate awareness plays a significant role in consumer decision-making today. The pursuit of sustainable development has become a priority factor in the processes of product selection and its subsequent use. Huge changes can be seen especially in the EV industry. According to the New Mobility Barometer 2024 report, almost 25% of Poles are already seriously considering buying an electric car.

Electric cars have become not only synonymous with prudence and responsibility for individual choices, but also a must have for drivers looking for safety, comfort and savings. In 2020, only 7% of Poles were thinking about switching to zero-emission cars. Today, this number is three times higher.

Changes that inspire

A real revolution has taken place in the EV industry. It was influenced by accelerating climate change, which had a strong impact on global manufacturers. Today, not only Tesla, but also BMW, Volkswagen, Audi, Mercedes-Benz, Ford, Jaguar, Porsche, Hyundai and Kia offer their customers modern cars powered by electricity. These models delight with their futuristic design, impressive ranges (on a single charge) and increasingly advanced amenities that make everyday driving even more enjoyable and even more economical. It is no wonder that more and more Poles dream of an electric car.

The greater interest in zero-emission vehicles is followed by the gradual expansion of EV charging infrastructure. The development of the network significantly facilitates the daily use of electric cars, although they are still far from the standards observed in Western European countries.

Increasingly popular in Poland

According to the "New Mobility Barometer 2024", prepared by the Polish New Mobility Association (PSNM), 23% of Poles declared interest in vehicles in 2024. As many as 62% of them are thinking about buying a used electric car, making their decision dependent on factors such as range (78%) and battery condition (42.1%). For comparison: in 2020 it was only 7%, and in 2023 15% of respondents.

Interest in electric vehicles is showing a growing trend, especially in larger cities, but this trend is also changing. Residents of smaller towns are increasingly declaring their willingness to replace combustion cars with electric ones. However, their decision is still influenced by high prices and concerns about insufficient charging infrastructure.

Switching to electric cars is not only about economic benefits. It is also an investment in a healthier and safer future. Less pollution and noise, energy-saving charging and significantly higher driving comfort are aspects worth considering.
